Band Biography
Dan & Joe is a ferocious rock duo from Wilmington, Delaware, consisting of two brothers. Their music fuses the heaviness of modern rock bands like Queens of the Stone Age with the style and feel of classic 70s rock groups to create a massive sound that is both familiar and fresh. Dan & Joe go all out at every show and are sure to have audience heads banging and faces melting.
As brothers, Dan & Joe have been playing music together for over 10 years. However, it was the Covid-19 lockdown that inspired the brothers to livestream performances on YouTube for their friends & family to enjoy at home. The band quickly found their rhythm and, once the lockdown was lifted, decided to take the show on the road. Since then, Dan & Joe have been playing local bars and venues in the Greater Philadelphia area such as Century Bar, Kung Fu Necktie, and Iconz.
The first studio album from the band was a 10 song LP entitled “Stuck In A Loop”, released in December 2020. The album consists of songs that were written and recorded over the preceding 7+ years. Some songs like “Square 1” and “Fear” were recorded in 2014 when Joe was still in high school, while others such as “Miss Communication” and “Go On” were recorded in early 2020. Despite spanning years of content, the album flows seamlessly and encapsulates the pivotal moments in Dan & Joe's lives that led them to pursue their musical goals.
In July 2023, Dan & Joe traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to play a show at Club Cafe and make their first music video for the song “Miss Communication”. The video was filmed at Pamela's Diner of Oakland where Joe used to work in college. Starring Maura Mazzella as “The Waitress”, the video puts the band at the whim of a less-than-enthusiastic server that seems to be more concerned with her cell phone and dance moves than the customers at her job. The situation escalates when the brothers decide to “dine & ditch” the restaurant, only to be aggressively pursued by the angry waitress.
The band released a second studio album in September 2023 called “Pig Pilot EP”. The 5 songs on the EP are the band's rendition of their favorite original tunes by Dan's first band, Chopper Pilot. The EP was recorded and mixed entirely in Joe's 1 bedroom apartment in Wilmington, Delaware, and is a testament to the band's rapidly-evolving performance and production skills. You can find the lyric video/visualizer for the song “Rooftop Dance Party” (starring a very famous dancing green frog) on the band's YouTube channel.
The newest release from Dan & Joe is a single called “Get Away”. It is a commentary on modern society's obsession with social media and reliance on technology, for which the band proposes a solution: you gotta get away from it all. Recorded entirely in one day at an undisclosed location, this tune represents the culmination of the brothers' production skills and their ability to work efficiently in the studio.
